I expect you to:
- Arrive at your lesson on time
- Pay the tuition on time
- Take care of your instrument
- Complete your assignments
- Practice at 5 – 6 days a week
Lesson format and tuition- 2:45pm to 5:45pm: I give half hour one-on-one lessons. The tuition $19.00 per lesson (starting August 25, 2025) and due at the first lesson of each month for the entire month. This reserves your time slot for that month. Tuition payment is the same every month September through May regardless of absences. The “fifth” lesson in a month is free or is a make-up lesson. Lessons June through August or “summer lessons” will be scheduled a month at a time and you pay only for the lessons you schedule. Lessons I miss will be credited or made-up. Holidays and my vacation days will be planned into the schedule at the beginning of each month and you will not be charged of your lesson falls on one of these days.
Adult students will follow the same scheduling and tuition policy as children do during the School Year Session (September through May) and the Summer Session (June and July).
Additional expenses: You will have a lesson book and possibly a supplemental book (depending on the level). The cost ranges from $10.00 – $15.00 per level. You have the option of purchasing Christmas or other holiday music. The cost usually ranges from $5.00 – $10.00 per book. I provide worksheets, additional sheet music, and an assignment folder. You are responsible for all fees charged by my bank for checks returned for non-sufficient funds. I do not charge late payment fees although prompt payment is appreciated. I do not charge recital or registration fees.
Absent policy: If you are going to be missing a lesson for any reason, please call me (608-788-1874) or email and let me know. You are welcome to call between the hours of 8am and 8pm. You can also email lajtlax@yahoo.com 24/7, but emails received after 8pm may be returned the following morning.
