Summer is an excellent time to focus on music education. I encourage all of my students to continue lessons over the summer. I use Flexible Scheduling over the summer in order to accommodate my students’ busy schedules.
Summer Lessons scheduling and tuition:
1. You will receive an email at the end of each month with the next month’s dates I will be available to teach.
2. Please respond to this email and send me the days you will be attending. I will then send you a tuition email with the amount due at your first lesson of the month for the entire month. It is $19.00 per lesson.
3. You pay for missed scheduled lessons. However, if you know in advance you will be missing a scheduled lesson and you contact me, you may be able to make up the lesson if I have an open time slot available. A make-up lesson must take place within 10 days of the missed lesson. If you simply do not show up, you will not be able to make up the lesson.
4. Prompt payment from parents is expected and appreciated.
School Year Scheduling based on Summer Lesson attendance.
Every year I try to accommodate the individual needs and preferences of each family when scheduling. My studio is near or at school-schedule capacity, so it can be necessary to prioritize the limited fall time slots. I am interested in students and parents who are committed to music instruction. Measures of commitment include regular practice and consistent lessons over the summer. As parents you want to get good value for your money. Students who practice and take lessons regularly are the most successful with their music lessons.
· Students who take 5 or more lessons during June/July will get first priority for fall sign-up.
· Students who take 4 or fewer lessons during June/July will get second priority for fall sign-up.
· Students who choose not to take over the summer will get third priority for fall sign-up. By not taking lessons over the summer, you run the risk of not being able to get a time slot in the fall because I accept new students if I have open time slots.
If your schedule does not allow for the 5 or more lessons during June and July, but you would still like to be in the First Priority scheduling group, you have the option to pay for the additional lessons. Taking or paying for 5 or more lessons during June and July does not guarantee you receive the time slot of of your choice. It only allows you the opportunity to request your choice of time slot on First Priority Scheduling Day. Time slots are scheduled using the “1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice method” starting on the announced scheduling dates. I create the schedule with as many ‘1st choices’ as possible while still fitting in all of my current students.
